The recruiting trail is heating back up this week. Evansville Reitz product Khristian Lander is getting plenty of love from Indiana's Archie Miller. While there is no official count I've been told that Miller has made as many as 25 visits to see the top rated recruit in the state of Indiana. Lander is a hot commodity in Indiana's 2021 class. After losing out on top rated Keion Brooks, Jr. last year, Archie Miller know's that he cannot let Lander get away. For one, he desperately needs a point guard, and the perception of Indiana's recruiting strength would take a blow. But if the attention being paid to the Southwest part of the state for this one is any indication, it's Indiana's race to win.
Khristian's father Keith Lander told me that Miller, Tom Ostrom and Bruiser Flint were in to see the 6'1" sophomore earlier today and that Tom Ostrom is scheduled to return later to watch him workout.

One of Indiana's top targets remaining for this recruiting cycle is Dawson Garcia. The 6'11" big man from Prior Lake, MN is a definite need for the Hoosiers. If Indiana does not add a big man to this class they will be potentially looking at having Race Thompson as the only player with experience on the block two years from now. 6'10" De'Ron Davis is a senior while 6'8"Justin Smith and 6'9"Joey Brunk will have also used up their eligibility when 2021 rolls around. Trace Jackson-Davis would be a Jr., but there are no guarantees that the Center Grove product will not leave for the NBA by then, which would put a lot of pressure on any incoming freshman.
One of those that could potentially be a part of that vaunted 2021 class is 6'7" wing Trey Kaufman from Silver Creek HS in Sellersburg, IN. The Hoosiers are expecting an official visit from Kaufman and 2020 point guard Caleb Love this weekend while Indiana Football is hosting Ohio State, which should be an electric environment. Love, of St. Louis, would fill an immediate need to back-up Rob Phinisee.
