Volleyball Sets Program Attendance Record, Top-15 in NCAA

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– In their first season in their new arena, Wilkinson Hall, the Indiana volleyball team set a new program record for average attendance. The Hoosiers also ranked in the top-15 in the NCAA in total attendance this season. The Hoosiers averaged 1,809 fans per match for a total of 30,753 for the season. The 1,809 is up from the 1,273 average from the 2018 season, which was a program record. In the 2017 season Indiana averaged 780 fans per match. “It was an exciting first year at Wilkinson Hall for our program,” IU head coach Steve Aird said. “I was especially impressed by our student section and their passion and support.” The 30,753 total ranked No. 15 in the NCAA in attendance this season. The 1,809 average ranked No. 24 in the NCAA. The Hoosiers top attended home match was against Purdue on Oct. 9 with a program record for single match attendance of 2,313. “We are very excited about the future here at IU,” Aird said. “We have a fantastic core returning and perhaps the best recruiting class in school history on the way. Our program certainly appreciated the support and we will look at build on it in 2020.”
